Fictitious Worlds of Timothée de Fombelle's Novels And Their Use in Didactics

This thesis deals with three novels written by a contemporary French writer of literature for children and young adults, Timothée de Fombelle: Toby Alone, Vango and The Book of Perle. The aim of this thesis is to define options of incorporation of these novels into literature lessons in higher grade classes of the elementary school. The thesis consists of a theoretical analysis of chosen aspects of the novels, description of subjective experience with reading the books, three excerpts from the novels, their didactic potential and model preparations for the lessons. The model lesson preparation includes the three-phase E-U-R learning model as well as the methods developing the ability of understanding and critical thinking (RWCT - Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking). Each model preparation is followed by a didactical commentary. Preparation of lesson with the excerpt from Tobiáš Lolness was implemented practically and consequently reflected by the teacher. The thesis also includes selected works from the students. As ascertained, the novels by Fombell show various mutual signs as well as the fact that they have a significant potential to engage attention of a young reader, since they provide topics interesting for this age group in accordance with the stage of their psychological development....
Contemporary Czech Prose and its Interpretation for Grammar Schools

This thesis reflects the contemporary Czech prose and its teaching at high schools. Theoretical chapters are focused on factors influencing the literature tuition at high schools: psychological and readers' profile of an adolescent student, high school particular environment from the teachers' perspective as well as state curriculum scope. In some respect the proposal of the own literary seminar aims with its concept to follow the ingrained scheme but there are some obvious aspects of innovation. The practical part tackles the didactic interpretation of the novel "Hastrman" by Miloš Urban and its usage when preparing two teaching units according to the proposed literary seminar concept. There is also a reflection of the proposed lesson preparations check up and finally are also mentioned the possible modifications in the concept as well as in those preparations. Contemporary Czech poetry - didactic potential

The thesis deals with contemporary Czech poetry, with trends in the evolution in last five years and with didactic potential of the modern poems. The theoretical part summarizes the changes in the evolution of contemporary Czech poetry based on the information from the anthology called Nejlepší české básně and offers two large interpretations and five short reflections of the modern Czech poems. Finally this part pronounces the student's priorities of the selection of poems in the lessons of literature. The practical part of the thesis contains one lesson proposal built on the poem Rasistická poezie by Jan Těsnohlídek ml. and a questionnaire intended for the grammar school teachers about contemporary Czech poetry. The results of the practical part of the thesis are presented and the general conclusions about didactic potential of a contemporary Czech poetry are pronounced.
